The chinaman has in the past spoken very highly of Warne’s influence in his bowling.Over the years the legendary leg-spinner has imparted his invaluable knowledge and experience every time he has met Kuldeep.Warne had bumped into Kuldeep at Adelaide, where the pair eventually got talking about spin bowling.Warne was seen deep in conversation with Kuldeep, showing him the tricks of the trade. Kuldeep the ever-attentive pupil, hung onto to every last word.”The front leading arm and all the momentum he gathers as a bowler is dissipated because his front arm goes towards fine-leg. Every time Warne was explaining to him, the shoulder goes down rather than away, which means the leading arm is actually following. It is going straight rather than away from you. That is something that will help him get the ‘fizz’ which Warne used to get,” Former Indian spinner Muralki Karthik explained on Sony’s end of day show on day 3 of the fourth Test.Kuldeep on Saturday, playing his first match since the ‘masterclass’ Warne and on the tour, went onto take three wickets to wreck havoc among the Australian ranks with willy spin. He dismissed Usman Khawaja, Travis Head and Tim Paine. Here is how he took those wickets:Yadav to Khawaja – Khawaja has hit this straight down mid-wicket’s throat. The Aussies came out looking ultra positive today and it had paid good dividends as they scored quick. But the problem with that tactic was that there would always be an odd chance given. Kuldeep gives this air on middle and Khawaja comes down the ground to loft it over mid on for a boundary. But the ball drifts a bit instead of turning. Usman gets it off the inner half and the ball goes straight to Pujara at mid-wicket.Yadav to Head – Fine return catch by Kuldeep Yadav and the fifth wicket goes down for Australia. A rank full toss around off, dipping into the batsman, Head shimmies down the track for a big shot probably but it catches the bottom half of his bat and lobs back to the bowler. Kuldeep reacts quickly in his followthrough and goes down to snap a low catch. India celebrate as a disappointed Travis heads back to the pavilion. Soft dismissal really. Still 231 runs away from avoiding the follow-on.Yadav to Paine – Gone through the gate! The whole over Kuldeep was bowling varying lengths and this one was the most flighted and fuller one of all. Gives it a large loop outside off and Tim Paine gets undone by the flight. He does not move his feet and goes for the drive away from his body. Leaves a huge gap between bat and pad and the ball goes right through. Takes the leg stump on its way. Poor, poor shot from the skipper, very lazy! Kuldeep picks up his third wicket of the inningsWarne had lauded Kuldeep for his debut performance which came in Dharmashala in 2017 and incidentally against Australia.advertisement”If young Kuldeep remains patient when he’s bowling in all forms then he could challenge Yasir as the best leg- spinner in the world and quickly,” Warne had tweeted. Was a pleasure to meet young Kuldeep when I was last in India. I really enjoy watching him bowl & cause confusion, even against Oz #INDvAUSShane Warne (@ShaneWarne) October 1, 2017Kuldeep had after the match, praised his ‘idol’ Warne and thanked him for teaching him the flipper that got him his first wicket.”My idol is Warne and I have followed him since my childhood. I only watch his videos and it was a dream-come-true when I met him. I could not believe I was speaking to my idol and sharing my thoughts on bowling and what all I should be doing. I did exactly what he (Warne) told me to do,” Kuldeep had said. The tale of No.23s!When @imkuldeep18 met his idol, @ShaneWarne post a fine show vs RR.#KKRvRR #IPL2018 #KKRHaiTaiyaar pic.twitter.com/8tZNMRZwmGKolkataKnightRiders (@KKRiders) May 16, 2018Kuldeep had clicked a photo with Warne during the Indian Premier League 2018 back in may with their backs to the camera, showing off the jersey number ’23’ that they share. Also Read | Kuldeep, Jadeja trigger Australia collapse on rain-hit Day 3Also Read | Not getting babysitting gigs: Fans react as Kuldeep playfully pulls young mascot’s cheeksAlso Read | Virat Kohli’s special gesture for Pink Test wins Glenn McGrath’s heartlast_img
