Vivo iQOO Neo is now official: A gaming smartphone with Snapdragon 845 starting from Rs 18,000

first_imgVivo had recently jumped into the gaming phone segment with its iQOO brand a few months ago. After launching the iQOO gaming phone, Vivo has now launched an affordable version of the iQOO in China, called the iQOO Neo. The phone starts from a very low price of Rs 18,000 and offers a comprehensively powerful specifications sheet. The highlight of the iQOO Neo is that it uses Qualcomm’s last year’s flagship Snapdragon chipset. The iQOO is probably the only gaming smartphone you will see this year that doesn’t go for a wild and impractical design. Instead, Vivo has gone for a design that makes it look like any other premium smartphone these days – it has a glossy gradient finish at the back and conventional narrow-bezel display with a teardrop notch on the top. There’s a slight chin at the bottom as well. While the iQOO looks like any other smartphone, it has some gaming-specific features. The iQOO gets an eSports mode as well as a dedicated Game Space launcher to show only gaming-specific modifications. Also, the phone features 4D vibration system that will provide haptic feedback in supported games. However, the interesting part about the iQOO Neo on paper is the chipset. Instead of using this year’s Snapdragon 855 chipset, The Snapdragon 845 is more than a year old now and has lesser computing abilities than the Snapdragon 855. However, since most games are optimised well enough for Snapdragon 845-powered phones, gamers shouldn’t feel a massive loss in performance.Apart from that, the iQOO Neo sports a 6.3-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a teardrop notch on top. The screen also houses an in-display fingerprint sensor. There’s a triple camera setup on the back which houses a 12-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, the front-facing camera relies on the 12-megapixel camera.advertisementThe phone also comes with liquid cooling technology to ensure higher and sustained peak performance. The phone uses a 4500mAh battery with 22.5W Vivo FlashCharge system. It runs on Funtouch OS based on Android 9 Pie.The iQOO Neo starts from CNY 1798 (approximately Rs 18,000) for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. There’s another variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage that comes for CNY 2298 (approximately Rs 23,000).ALSO READ | Vivo Z1 Pro review: Killing it with a price of Rs 14,990ALSO READ | Vivo Z1Pro with Snapdragon 712 processor, in-display camera launched in India, price starts at Rs 14,990ALSO READ | Vivo V15 review: Cheapest pop-up camera phone with great design and battery lifelast_img
