STATE REP RACE QA Erin Buckley Explains Why Shes Running Describes Her

first_imgWILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington Apple is asking weekly questions to the seven candidates running in contested primaries for the Wilmington/Tewksbury State Representative seat (19th Middlesex).Below, in her own words, are the responses to this week’s questions from candidate Erin Buckley (R-Tewksbury).#1) Why do you want to be our State Representative? (submitted by Mary Kiesinger of Wilmington)I want to have the privilege of being the State Representative for the 19th Middlesex because it is a position of vital importance for which no one would — or could — do a better job than I. I have worked in the State House, twice, once as an intern in the Governor’s Office and once as a Legislative Aide. I sit on Tewksbury’s Finance Committee and its Local Housing Partnership. I know, first hand, what it takes to do this job and I know what Tewksbury and Wilmington need from Beacon Hill. My goal is to streamline the communication between town hall and state house — and it is one I will achieve.#2) Do you consider yourself a liberal, conservative or moderate? Please describe your political ideology. (submitted by Danielle Driscoll of Tewksbury)I am a proud conservative. Where I fall within that umbrella term is also a position of personal pride: I am a classic libertarian. I believe in personal freedom and personal responsibility. I believe that government is here to engage in only the most essential duties that maintain a functioning society. I believe that government is there to help those who cannot help themselves, not those who can but won’t help themselves. I also believe that government is OF the people and FOR the people, and that the shift toward a ruling class of self-designated — or privately appointed — officials is setting both a dangerous and dysfunctional precedent.(NOTE: Do you have a question for the candidates? WATCH Alien researcher releases eerie clip of highspeeding UFO in Orange County

first_imgMavixxxPopular conspiracy theory YouTube channel ‘Mavixxx’ has now uploaded a mysterious video clip that shows a UFO flying in the skies of Orange County, California at breathtaking speed. The clip shows a disc-shaped flying object in the skies, and it had glowing light in its seemingly metallic body.In the video, the conspiracy theorist revealed that the footage was shot on June 19, 2019, and the sighting was apparently captured by a local resident named Sherlly Galicia. Interestingly, the shape and structure of the flying object spotted in the skies of Orange County seems very similar to the alien flying crafts we have seen in Hollywood sci-fi flicks like ‘Independence Day’ and ‘Mars Attack’.The video uploaded by Mavixxx has already gone viral on YouTube, and it has already racked up more than 25,000 views. After watching the video, most of the viewers claimed that sightings like these are authentic proof of alien existence. As per these alien enthusiasts from the deep space used to visit the earth to monitor human activities, and they even went ahead and claimed that these otherworldly entities are gearing up for an invasion. However, skeptics were quick to dismiss the alien angle, and they revealed that the flying object spotted in the video could be a drone. Some others argued that these crafts might be sometimes secret military vehicles that have the capability to travel at hypersonic speed. The new sighting was reported just a few days after Donald Trump, the president of the United States revealed that he does not believe in aliens. Interestingly, Pentagon had earlier confirmed that they had carried out a secretive mission to unravel the mysteries surrounding UFO sightings, especially the one reported by Navy officials. Several Navy officials had previously informed the authorities that the flying objects spotted in the skies performed bizarre manoeuvres that literally defied all laws of modern physics.last_img read more

Britains Pompeii reveals new clues about life during the Bronze Age

first_imgThought the site is no longer situated on a river, it is quite wet, which is helping to preserve artifacts. The researchers plan to remove them all because it is believed the water level in the areas is likely to fall, removing their natural protective blanket. © 2016 Phys.org Glass beads thought to have been from a necklace. More information: Press release Bronze Age textile made from plant fibres. The site was first discovered back in 2006, but it was only recently that excavations began—a joint effort between the University of Cambridge and Historic England. Items from the houses which sit approximately two meters below ground level, have been dated to approximately 1000-800 BC, which puts them near the end of the Bronze Age—a time dominated by tools and weapons made by mixing copper and tin, from roughly 2500, to 1000 BC. In Britain, the Bronze Age has been extended to approximately 800 BC—it ended when visitors from overseas introduced implements made of iron. Because of the arrangement, the researchers believe the houses were abandoned very quickly, likely due to the fire, which allowed for the preservation of objects as they existed in the everyday lives of people during that time period. Thus far, workers digging at the site have uncovered pots and pans of varying sizes, spears and daggers, exotic glass beads and even textiles that had been fashioned from tree bark. They have also uncovered the charred remains of the timbers that once served as stilts, allowing those living in the house to exist as if on their own tiny island. A human skull has also been found near one entrance, but it has not yet been studied in detail, thus it is not known if it might have belonged to one of the inhabitants of the house. The team has also identified footprints in the sediment. Detail on a 6.3m oak logboat. Close up of stilts and collapsed roof timbers. Explore further Close up of stilts and collapsed roof timbers. Shifting sand dunes reveal hidden Bronze Age settlement (Phys.org)—A team of archeologists working at a dig site in Cambridgeshire in Britain has found what they are describing as Britain’s ‘Pompeii’—evidence of everyday life in an ancient society, covered by mud—and the best preserved Bronze Age dwelling ever found in that country. The find consists of two circular wooden houses that once stood atop stilts over a river—when the houses caught fire, they collapsed into the river and were covered by silt, which preserved everyday items inside, such as tables and chairs and jewelry, and even food in bowls.
